      Hi thefreakyfox,

I think its possible, but the main driving force for it is finding water, if there is water which we can use on a planet or moon it means we could grow things, make fuels and oxygen, all the things which could sustain us. Otherwise we have to carry all our water with us, which is a real limitation.

As for how far in the future it would be, well the ISS has a lot of the technology required and the MARS-500 project showed that humans could probably deal with a mission to Mars, so if there is anything useful out there I don’t see it being a long time till maybe a base, but full colonisation is a long way off I suspect.

      Hope this answered the question
