I will obviously encourage you to take the big important ones – all Sciences, Maths and English. Another language is always good too but really at the end of the day follow what you enjoy – I did Drama and Design & Technology and they turned out to be my best GCSE subjects.

take a good mix of subjects, that way you can find out what you enjoy doing most.

As well as Science/Maths/English, I did French, German, History and Business Studies. (We had to take at least one language and at least one humanities subject). I took these because they were the subjects I found most interesting – it’s the best way to avoid being bored! So my advice would be similar to Ben’s – do the stuff you enjoy.

      hi sinnita,

Yep the key thing is to pick things that you like (or at least don’t hate) I got talked into taking History at GCSE which I really hated, and it showed as I ended up with a D in it.

Yep, always do the stuff that interests you most and that you like the best.

My theory is: if you like something, then you’ll find it easy to work hard at it. And if you work hard you’ll do well!
