      No idea – and even wikipedia can’t help me 😉

      Plus I haven’t used a test tube since A-Level chemistry. Sorry I am no help.

      Heh, good question. No idea what the answer is. Maybe Louis Test-Tube the famous, made-up French chemist :-p

      I also have no idea about this one.
      I did try to find an answer on google, the best I found suggested Antoine Lavoisier (1743-1794) who is regarded as the ‘father of modern chemistry’. Before ~1800 (apparently) there weren’t many containers made specially for chemistry so you’d have to be quite rich to have specialised kit. Seems plausible. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet though 🙂

      No idea about test tubes, but glass holders were being made before 1000BC so at least we can say whoever it was lived in the last 3000 years….. narrows it down a bit 🙂
