ooh crikey, I’m not a biologist so I’m not sure!
I know that sometimes a human can have both male and female bits (called hermaphrodites, or intersex) – this is quite common in plants and some animals as well. But that’s not the same as what you’re asking about.
Perhaps you could ask a biology teacher?
I am not a biologist and to be honest I only paid attention to genetics in biology class. Genetically speaking I don’t think it’s possible for a human to have no sex as every human must have the complete set of chromosomes ( the bits of DNA that encode our design). Chromosomes come in pairs and it is the pair of either two X chromosomes that make a woman a woman or one X and one Y that makes a man a man.
Hormones then take a role in producing physical features which can vary. As Katherine suggests I think it best to ask a biologist this question!
I’m going to have to join the group of us who don’t have a clue i’m afraid. What Katherine and Ben have said makes sense, I’ll ask arround at work tomorrow and try and find out for you
So i asked one of the biologists at work and they said that it was possible to be both, through various things like having XXY chromozones, but its not really possible to be neither.
