Home experiments can be fun – I am not sure if I should suggest some of the ones I have done though as they involve microwaves…
There are some basic ones listed here http://www.physics.org/marvinandmilo.asp some more interesting than others I have to say.

I always loved bottle rockets, great fun and you can play around with the design and loads of other things to make them better, check this out from Band goes the Theory http://www.bbc.co.uk/bang/handson/waterbottlerockets.shtml

I like this one – measuring the speed of light with a microwave and some buttered bread (a tray of marshmallows or chocolate buttons works too): http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/content/kitchenscience/exp/measuring-the-speed-of-light/ In fact there are lots of suggestions on that website (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/content/kitchenscience/), why don’t you give some of them a try?
Jony Hudson answered on 18 Nov 2011:
There are some great experiments you can do if you’ve got a laser pointer. You can measure the width of your hair, measure the size of the tracks on a CD, look at the thickness of soap bubbles etc
Have a look at this to get started:
