Nature is built from building blocks just like LEGO. Nature has a set of instructions on how these blocks should fit together to create stars, planets and everything around us – these instructions are called forces. I work on experiments that try to measure how many of these building blocks there are and how the instructions work so that we can recreate a model of Nature in maths.

      Nice question!

I’m trying to figure out what shape the basic building blocks of the universe are. This is important because if we don’t know what shape they are, we can’t know properly how they will behave.

      Hi calciumkate,

I would say something like :
We have a tool which other scientists use like a microscope to look inside the things they want to understand. This helps them with all kinds of things like making medicines or better engines.
