• Question: Possibly more chemistry, but whyc is the sea salty?

      hi mathewelliott,

      Honestly don’t know this one, but I suspect its to do with the fact that salts are soluble and get dissolved by rain and washed into the sea, but when the sea evaporates to form clouds the salt gets left behind.

      Huh, good question. I guess like Mark says it must be because the rain washes the salt out of the soil and rocks, and it ends up in the sea. I don’t really know either though!
