That’s a pretty deep question megnesium,

So i cant really say that I know, but its a pretty highly debated subject in Philosophy. For me I think the answer is self awareness, so the ability to recognise that its you in a mirror rather than another person.

      Hope that answers the question

Science does not yet have an answer. It is thought by some that the answer lies in quantum mechanics, as the size of the connections between our brain cells is approaching the Quantum level. That is a deep question that many people have and will continue to spend their lives trying to answer.

      Wow, that’s a tough question.

I don’t know what the answer is, but I do know that the answer isn’t to be found in science! Science can explain how our brain cells work, and how they fire together when we think, but it can never answer questions like “why are we alive?” or “what does it mean to be conscious?”. Those are questions of philosophy.
